General Description:
Technical Specifications:
The Electro-Voice ND6 is a world-class high-frequency
compression driver capable of extremely high acoustic output
over a wide frequency range.
ND6-8
ND6-16
16 ohms
14 ohms
10 ohms
Nominal Impedance:
Minimum Impedance: 7 ohms @ 6 kHz
DC Resistance: 4.5 ohms
Freq. Response: 1000-20,000 Hz
8 ohms
Precise engineering, along with careful selection of materials
and advanced driver architecture, has resulted in a driver
that is ideally suited for the most demanding presentation of
high quality music and communications program.
Power Capacity1 : 75 Watts, 150 Watts Cont. Prog.
Recommended Crossover2 : 1000 Hz or higher
Nominal Efficiency: 28%
Incorporating Electro-Voice’s exclusive Ring Mode
Decoupling (RMD) through all design phases has produced
drivers with unmatched accuracy while minimizing acoustic
resonances and time domain ringing throughout the driver
structure.
Sound Pressure Level3 : 114 dB, HP420 Horn
(1 Watt @ 1 Meter) 112 dB, HP640 Horn
110 dB, HP940 Horn
Throat Diameter: 1.38" (35mm)
Voice Coil Diameter: 3" (75 mm)
Voice Coil Wire: Pure Aluminum Ribbon
The resulting small size and weight-to-power ratio of the ND6
assures easy installations where weight may be a concern.
The 2.15 Tesla flux density provided by the Neodymium
magnet exceeds that of conventional drivers at a fraction of
the size.
Diaphragm Construction: 0.05 mm Pure Titanium Dome and
Surround
A unique, geometrically optimized 3" titanium diaphragm,
consisting of a one-piece dome and suspension system gives
these drivers an ideal combination of superb high-frequency
response and resistance to fatigue.
Electrical Connection: Screw Terminals (Accepts a pair of
12GA Wires
Polarity: Positive Voltage to Positive Terminal
Produces a Positive Acoustic
Pressure
Integrated into the ND6’s design is a finned aluminum heatsink
to increase power handling and reliability.
Flux Density: 2.15 Tesla
Net Weight (each): 5.5 lbs (2.5 kg)
Shipping Weight: 6.5 lbs (3.0 kg)
1 Power capacity per AES standard. Continuous pink noise with a 6 dB crest factor, 2 hours.
2 For applications below 1000 Hz, use ND6x.
3 Sound Pressure measured on axis in the far field with 1 Watt input of band-limited pink noise from 1000 - 5000 Hz
and calculated to 1 Meter equivalent by inverse square law.
